The class fee is $450 + a service fee charged by the ticketing provider.

We will start accepting registrations on August 26th to give students time to arrange funds. If you will be able to pay for the class in full by the end of September but need to arrange a payment plan, please contact Tempest to do so.

If the class sells out before you can register, please contact Tempest to get on the waiting list.

Classes will be taught via Google Hangouts on these dates:

(all Saturdays)

Class begins at 10am Pacific time and runs to 12:30pm. (Please use a time zone converter to see when that lands for you locally.) We chose this day and time specifically to make the class available to more people across time zones both in North America and outside of it.

The class is capped at 8 students.

Class Requirements

You must have a Google account to participate in this class. Sessions are held in Google Hangout video chat and all classwork is submitted via a private Google Drive folder. A video camera is not necessary for class, but we do need to hear you. Please check and make sure Google Hangouts works on your computer prior to signing up for the class.

You need an interest in writing, but you do not need to have written or published anything yet.

Throughout class we will use your fiction for exercises and homework. This can be a short story, novelette, novel, etc. that’s in the early drafted stage or mostly ready to start submitting. At the end of class you’ll have an opportunity to workshop this piece of writing.

All students must be active participants in class. There will be lectures as well as in-class exercises and Q&A.

In addition to class time, be prepared to spend 3 – 5 hours per week on homework, which will include responding to other students’ assignments.
